This study included 30 subjects, were classified into three groups: Group I: 10 healthy control. Group II: 10 patients with active RPP. Group III: 10 patients with inactive RPP. Group II, III were selected according to the criteria of Pag et al (1983). The level of the antibody IgG to collagen type I was determined by using an-enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)according to Gosslaw and Barrah. The results of the present study revealed that the level of the IgG antibody to collagen type I in both GCF and serum in active RPP was significantly higher than those inactive RPPand in control group. Also the level of the auto-antibody was higher in serum than in the GCF in all the subjects.
